Anthony Francis Salerno

Anthony Francis Salerno, 67, passed away at his home in West Palm Beach, Florida, on July 22, 2026.

Born on February 22, 1959, in Queens, New York, Anthony spent the first half of his life in Corona, New York before moving to Wellington, Florida, in 1994. In Corona, he built lifelong friendships and countless memories that remained close to his heart throughout his life. After moving to Florida, he formed many more lasting friendships while never losing touch with those from back home. Whether near or far, Anthony valued the people in his life and made sure the friendships he built over the years continued to grow. He proudly worked for the New York City Department of Transportation before moving to Florida.

Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anthony and Anna Salerno, and his sisters, Geraldine Cousland and Susan Rosolio.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Stephanie (Billy) Salerno Castro, Anthony Michael (India) Salerno, Julien (Addie) Salerno Drake, and Christopher Salerno. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Melina Daubenmire and Emma (Jackson Kendrick) Daubenmire, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

He is also survived by his niece, Jennifer Cousland; his nephew, Ryan (Lorraine) Cousland; his great-nieces, Capri and Aria; his brothers-in-law, Richard Cousland and Leonard Rosolio; his cousins, Camille (Alfredo) Salerno Bramanti and Alfred Salerno; and many extended family members, lifelong friends, and countless people whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Anthony's greatest accomplishment was not something that could be measured by titles or accolades. It was the life he lived as a loving father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He had an extraordinary gift for making others feel important, valued, and loved. One of his favorite questions to ask was, "Has anyone told you they loved you today?" If the answer was no, or even if it was yes, Anthony never let the conversation end without saying those words himself.

A devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years, Anthony found one of his life's greatest purposes in helping others. He faithfully attended meetings, sponsored many individuals on their journeys of recovery, and selflessly shared his strength, hope, and experience. To so many, he was more than a sponsor, he was a trusted friend, a steady source of encouragement, and a reminder that no one had to walk alone.

Anthony embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in the people and passions he loved most. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers and the New York Mets. A natural athlete, he was especially known for playing roller hockey on the streets of Corona. Music was another lifelong passion, and he loved sitting behind his drum set, spending hours jamming in the garage. He never passed up a good cup of coffee, enjoyed fishing at Lake Wellington, looked forward to his daily swims, and took great pride in caring for his beautiful fish tank and beloved parakeets and making his delicious eggplant parmesan for family and friends.

More than anything else, Anthony will be remembered for the endless love he gave so freely. His warmth, compassion, generosity, humor, and unwavering belief in others left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a way of making every person feel like family, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and hope wherever he went.

Anthony's legacy is one of love in action. It lives on through his children and grandchildren, through every life he helped change, every friendship he cherished, and every person he reminded that they mattered. Though his absence will be deeply felt, the love he shared so generously will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
