Anthony J. Nazzaro

January 9, 1942 — November 19, 2024

Although many thought his "9 lives" may be limitless, Anthony "Tony" Nazzaro, passed away surrounded by his family on November 19, 2024. Tony will most be remembered for his humor, generosity, and devotion to his family, which were unwavering to the end. Tony was born in Cambridge, MA, to George and Mary Nazzaro, and served in the Army. He is preceded in death by his brothers George and Richard. At 19, Tony gained his "guardian angel" when his father passed away suddenly. Rarely would a day go by without Tony sharing a story, memory, piece of advice, or feeling of gratitude for his father, who he credited with always watching out for him from Heaven. We are comforted to know that they are reunited now. Tony is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Christine B. Nazzaro, his brother James (Sandy) Nazzaro, sister-in-law Sylvia MacQuarrie, as well as his children Toni Marie Nazzaro, Steven (Noelle Carpenter) Nazzaro, Rhonda (Gregory) Lambert, Robin Nazzaro, and Khrysti Lynn (Edward) Nazzaro, and grandchildren Andrew, Alexis (Corey), Alycia (Jon), Katherine, Samantha (Tyler), Anjali, Nikhil, Vijay, Janthony, Isabella, and Raya Hope, and great grandchildren CJ, Colton, and Ava, as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families. Tony was truly larger than life, whether holding court with friends while sharing a meal, wrangling his children and their antics, installing glass high above the ground on scaffolding on some of Boston's tallest buildings, managing a business, rescuing family and friends from a boat fire, landing a semi-engineless airplane, or flipping and crashing a race car only to walk away with barely a scratch, he always lived to the fullest. He found comedy in every part of life, he loved ice cream, music, and dancing, would give you the shirt off his back, and could still shoot his age on the golf course even when his health declined. Tony was so mechanically inclined he could fix or build nearly anything from vehicles to structures. He was a tremendous innovator in the commercial glass industry and developed new ways of contracting work nationally, as well as contributed to new product development including with laminated glass. Tony's love of glasswork was born from his father, and when he started his own small "shop" in the 1960s, no one could have guessed how successfully it would grow and evolve to incorporate several of his children and family members, as well as lead to impressive entrepreneurship with new businesses created by his children and grandchildren. Tony had friends everywhere, but his total focus and desire was to be with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His legacy continues with them. We appreciate donations in his honor to his charity of choice St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Trustbridge Hospice Care (West Palm Beach, FL).
