Anthony Iannone, 91 Korean War Army veteran, longtime Blue Cross employee, caring and loving grandfather and father, Anthony Iannone, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, died early Saturday morning at Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach, Florida due to complications of COVID-19. Born in 1930 to Frank and Mary Iannone, Anthony grew up in the Bronx and South Brooklyn. He celebrated his 91st birthday just three weeks ago. After his service in Korea, Anthony joined Blue Cross/Blue Shield, where he worked as a reimbursement specialist up until his retirement in 1992. His hobbies were playing cards and watching sports. As we moved on from the 20th century, it became more and more difficult for Anthony to find pinochle players. He was an avid NY Mets and Rangers fan. Anthony took much pleasure in walking along 86th St on a nice, sunny, Saturday afternoon, while enjoying a good hot slice of pizza. Although he spent most of his life in Brooklyn, Anthony had resided in Royal Palm Beach for the past several years, where he was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Anthony was a devoted son to Mary and Frank, and a thoughtful and benevolent brother and brother-in-law to Mary Theresa and David Grey, Frank and Mary Iannone, Patrick and Marie Iannone, all who had predeceased him. All of whom he spent a lifetime with in perfect harmony, never a bad word between them. Anthony had many nieces, nephews and cousins, who he never lost touch with. Anthony was polite and thoughtful to all, and made many lifetime friends. He never forgot a birthday or a religious holiday, and made it his point to call with good cheer. In addition to the many friends and relatives, Anthony is survived by his daughter and her husband Susan and Jerry Seeley, his son and his wife Anthony and Carmela Iannone, and his youngest child Mary Ciriano and her partner George Moutis; his grandson and his wife Joseph and Jessica Ciriano, granddaughters Kristine Ciriano, Melissa and Carla Iannone, and his symbolically adopted grandson Eric.
