Anthony "Tony" Cambareri, a man whose smile was infectious, and whose one-liners spoken in his unforgettable Italian accent will be remembered and repeated forever, died on November 15, 2024 at 76 years young. Born on January 25, 1948 in Melia di Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Italy to Rocco and Anna Cambareri, Tony lived his life bringing joy and laughter to all who were lucky enough to know him. At 18 years old, he left his home for new beginnings in America, joining his older brothers, Vincenzo, Domenico, Giovanni, and Rosario. Tony dedicated 30+ years to his work at Arnold Bakery. He met his wife of 51 years, Erminia, doing what he loved so much, dancing to Italian music. They raised their first two children, Rocco "Rocky" and Annamaria, in Port Chester, New York, surrounded by Tony's brothers, their wives, and the many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Tony and Erminia moved to Yorktown Heights, where they raised their third child, Grace, before coming to Florida where he quickly became "the mayor of Fern-a-hood Cres," proudly giving away mangos and avocados from his fruitful trees. Tony loved nothing more than watching a good Italian soccer game, singing along to the national anthem on full volume. Challenging anyone to a game of Scopa, or one of his many card tricks, while playfully teasing his opponent, was always a guaranteed good time. Word search books and scratch-off tickets could always be found on his patio table, where he sat next to his little Shorty for hours talking to all the neighbors who passed by. Once he learned that at the push of a button he could see anyone he loved, calling them on "Face-a-Time" was just another way Tony was able to show you his affection. Above all, Tony was the happiest when he was with his family, who he made sure every day knew how much he loved them. Tony is survived by his wife Erminia, daughters Annamaria, Grace (Zachary), and Rebecca, grandson Anthony, brother Vincenzo, and many nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his parents Rocco and Anna, brothers Giovanni, Rosario, and Domenico, and his son Rocky. A wake will be held Wednesday, November 20th, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Palms West Funeral Home, located at 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, FL. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 21st, beginning at 11:00am at the same location. He will be laid to rest at 1:00pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace, located at 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, FL. "If you haven't already, you will lose someone you can't live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and you never completely get over the loss of a deeply beloved person. But this is also good news. The person lives forever, in your broken heart that doesn't seal back up. And you come through, and you learn to dance with a banged up heart." -- Anne Lamott
