Anne Marie Jones

Anne Marie Jones (nee Ward), 81, Point Pleasant, NJ To know her was to love her. Anne Marie Jones peacefully joined her family and friends in heaven on April 16, 2015. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Anne Marie attended Bayonne High School and Bayonne Junior College. At the age of 21, she and her new groom, George, began the life of expatriates and moved to Liberia. Over the next few decades, they also lived in Nigeria, Baltimore, and Australia before finally settling in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Anne Marie was a parishioner at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church where she found much comfort and solace. Anne Marie worked for St. Peter's Church and Bank of America in Point Pleasant Beach. She was an avid reader and enjoyed nothing more than reading a good book by the sea and being a snowbird in Naples, FL. First and foremost, Anne Marie loved her family. She was devoted to her husband and cherished her time with her children and grandchildren, of whom she was so proud. She dearly loved her brothers and sisters and dozens of nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her daughter, Annemarie Jones, her parents, Dennis and Mary Ward, her sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Thomas Early, her brothers, Gene Ward and Jack Ward and brother and sister-in-law James and Joan Ward. She is survived by her husband George W. Jones, Jr., son George W. Jones, III and wife Lisa Henningson, daughter Denise Jones and partner Peter Bloom, grandchildren, Emma, Betsy and Mac Jones, sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Al Laba, sisters-in-law Lucille Ward, Barbara Ward as well as many, many cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She has left a legacy of love, moral strength, charity and grace. A service will be held in the summer at St. Peter's Church in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, 319 Maple Street, Perth Amboy, NJ, 08861
