Ann Marsha Conover

Ann Conover, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Born May 11, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ann shared her life with Beryl Hill and was at the heart of the close family that grew around them. She helped raise Brittany, Breck and Brandon and was a constant in the lives of Jessi, Gary and Dane. Later came Taylor, Ruby and Harlow. There was never one title that captured Ann’s place in the family. She was Ann, and everyone knew what that meant. 

Spring breaks and summers meant “Ann’s Day Camp,” where she taught the kids to camp, fish and appreciate the outdoors. A lifelong Girl Scout, Ann loved nature, knew her birds, had an incredible green thumb and possessed a special way with animals that made her our pet whisperer. She was a phenomenal cook, appreciated a good steak, and had a quick wit and unmistakable sarcasm. 

Ann was also the person who taught us how to budget, balance the books and run a business. She loved to travel and saw the world with Beryl and her brother, Andy, with her sister in law Judy joining some of their adventures. She loved genealogy and continued the family research begun by her mother, Margaret. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Ann was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

A Vietnam era veteran with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Ann worked for Florida Power and later as an estimator during construction of the Marble Hill Nuclear Power Plant before owning a pet shop for many years. 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Franklin Conover, and her brother, John. She is survived by Beryl; her brother, Andrew “Andy” Conover; and the family she spent so much of her life helping raise. 

Ann was strong, independent and determined, and she carried that strength with her until the very end. She taught us more than she probably ever realized, and so much of her lives on in the way we live our own lives. 

So when you see a coin on the ground, pick it up for Ann. Take the camping trip. Notice the birds. Feed the animals. Cook something wonderful. Order the steak. Go see the world.
