Andrew Lee Hansbrough

My brother and I always had what people described as a "weird" sense of humor. We preferred to just say that we simply were politically incorrect. But there is one item of political correctness that I believe in. They changed the term "obituaries" to "transitions". Obituaries mean a hard stop. Transitions mean moving on. Ironically, the ICU was on the third floor and the maternity ward was on the second. When you got on the elevator, all you had to do was look at their faces to know what button they would push. Comings and goings. Transitions. Andy was a good man with a good heart and he has left the world much too soon. Fran and all his family will miss him very much. We all fervently hope that he has moved on to a far better place. If there is a God in heaven, Andy's transition will be a good one.
