Alton Augustine Brown Jr. also called "Poppy" was born to Alton Brown Sr. and the late Elizabeth Speight on December 9, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 he departed his life with us followed by illness. Alton was raised in Brooklyn were he also graduated from John Jay High School in Kings County. Thereafter, he joined the military and served in the U.S. Airforce from March 1971 through April 1974. He gained employment at the U.S. Postal Service in Manhattan, New York in 1987 and later relocated in 1995 to the Postal Service in West Palm Beach, FL where he retired as a Maintenance Mechanic in March 2017 after 30 years of service. Alton was a loving son and brother, with a serious type demeanor and was very humorous at times. He told some corny jokes that made you laugh while shaking your head. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, traveling, playing pool, spades and just loved having fun with family and friends. Alton would relax and monopolize the TV to watch western movies whenever he was told to make himself at home, and if you asked him the name of the show or movie he would tell you the year the show was produced, all the actors and actresses. He also loved listening to music and was the life of the party when dancing, he also knew every song and when the record came out. He leaves to cherish his memories survived by stepmother (Alice Brown), 2 brothers Prentiss Brown, and Alban Brown, 7 sisters Michelet Holton, Suzette Wilson, Charmagne Brown, Tara Norfleet, Deborah Council, Stephanie Shoecraft (deceased) and Simone Porter, sister-and-brother in laws, aunt and uncles host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
