Althea Tillman

September 3, 1965 — January 23, 2025

With grace, strength, and an unyielding spirit, Althea Amrith Tillman, 59, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2025, after bravely battling cancer. Born in Braeton District, St. Catherine, Jamaica, on September 3, 1965 she was the daughter of the late Carmelita Serita Aitcheson and David Agusta Amrith. She was an unbridled spirit whose love was always reflected with those she encountered, touching the hearts of many. Althea attended St. Catherine Primary School, Spanish Town, Jamaica W.I., Dunrobin Christian Academy High School, Kingston, Jamaica, W.I.. She earned a certificate from Durham Business Institute, Kingston, Jamaica, W.I. A born entrepreneur, Althea's passion for business and home design was matched only by her love for family. From helping her mother's business at Hellshire Beach to owning Thea's Décor and More, she built a legacy of creativity. She also dedicated over 25 years to geriatric care, offering warmth and compassion to those in need. Althea's passion for interior home design is usually on point. She loved transforming spaces into cozy, stylish retreats that reflect personality and function. Shopping is more than just a pastime. It was an opportunity to discover unique pieces and decor that elevated any room. Above all, Althea was a devoted mother to her "three strong soldiers," George Jr., Brandon, and Ashton Gordon, who saw her as their "super mom." She is survived by her siblings: Nadine Goulbourne and her husband, Ronald Golburne; Michelle Lewis and her husband, Martin Oswald Lewis; Wendy Ellington and her partner, Mark Lemonious; Jason, Shawn, David Jr., John-Ross, and Lacey Amrith. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Amrith. Additionally, she leaves to mourn her loss the biological father of her children, George Gordon Sr.; her aunt, Doxie Sewell; uncles, Calvin, Alpha, and Howard McKay; nieces, Shanelle, Celine and Ashley Golburne, Monique Lewis, Chinelle and Khadijah Ellington; nephews, Pa'res Gardner, Keshawn Lewis, and Craig Ellington; along with numerous cousins, friends, and acquaintances. Althea's presence was a gift—her legacy of resilience and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
