Alford Fielding Parsons, passed away peacefully on April 28th 2024 at the age of 81. He is survived by wife, Merleen, 6 children, 4 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and many nieces and nephews. Everyone that knew Alford (aka Alfred, Fred, Ford, Alfredo, Allie) will miss his great attitude, mechanical aptitude and his ability to find and share the best Jamaican fruits treats and patties. Alford was born in Kellits, Clarendon to Rufus and Gloria Parsons. As a young man in Jamaica, he studied at Kingston Tech and then worked at Cremo for 18 years. Once he immigrated to the US, he continued his work in refrigeration at M&M Appliances and Velda Farms, where he made lifelong friends. He retired in 2014 and enjoyed traveling to England, Ireland, New York, Alaska, Michigan and various other destinations. Within a few months of retiring, he realized this type of leisurely retirement was not for him. And so, he continued his "retirement" by doing mechanical & handyman jobs for friends and family. He loved working with his hands and teaching others the welding, HVAC and plumbing skills that he gained over more than 60 years. He will be missed by many. The family will receive friends and loved ones at 9am Saturday May 11th, 2024 at Grace Fellowship, 8350 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33411. Funeral service will be held immediately after at 10:00 am at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation. Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, kindness and support during this difficult time.
