Alberto A. Loret De Mola

October 25, 1931 — July 11, 2023

Alberto A. Loret de Mola was born in Camagüey, Cuba on Oct. 25, 1931. He lived an idyllic life with his parents, Alberto R., Maria Virtudes Iraola and one sister, Olga (Gaspar Pichardo). Life was good. He alternated between the city life in Camagüey and his beloved family ranch "La Mina". Alberto married young, graduated from the University of La Habana Veterinary School and returned to Camagüey to work the cattle ranch and grow his family. The life he knew was abruptly cut short when he left Cuba in Sept. 1961 as professionals began to be detained or imprisoned to prevent their departure from Cuba. He joined his wife, Alicia, and daughters, who had fled to the US months prior. He worked various jobs, mainly in the Glades, with King Ranch, Shelton Land and Cattle Co., Double D, and Gulf and Western Fellsmere Division and as a field supervisor at Okeelanta Sugar Mill. Alberto enjoyed freedom in the US and energized his life with his faith, work, sports and family. His favorite sport became tennis and he played for many years, well into his 80s. He loved to play dominoes and root for the Miami Dolphins! Alberto passed on from this life on July 11, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto R. (d1991) and Maria Virtudes (d1993), and his beloved grandson Eduardo Pedraza (d1998). He leaves behind to mourn him, his wife of 72 years, Alicia (Casas) Children: Alicia (Gus Johnson), Maria (Servelio Pedraza), Viviane (Freddy Ross), Patricia (Tori Butt), and his long-awaited son, Alberto E.
