Born in Fort Lauderdale on August 22, 1986, Albert grew up locally and went to Plantation High School. To his family, he was Mari. Even as a kid he was all motion, forever getting into trouble alongside his brother Darius and always the first to jump into the fray, usually the first to get hurt. He chased adrenaline from the start. He loved taking things apart to see how they worked and was smart enough to know how to put them back together again. His fascination with how things are built and his love of speed were both there from the beginning, and they never left him.

Albert was the rare kind of person who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. Bringing people together was his gift. He carried himself with a gentle, kindhearted ease that never felt stiff, the kind that made you feel like a friend within minutes of meeting him. He earned the respect of everyone around him and was loved by more people than he ever realized.

He loved motorcycles and the open road, a good cigar, good tequila, and any reason for an adventure. To his riding club, he was Gino. He also loved to eat, and lately he'd found a new favorite at a taco shop called Bandoleros, where, of all things, his pick was the smash burg-er.

Albert could turn his hand to just about anything. He worked as a Florida licensed home inspector, spent years in construction where he built up his own business, and even did a stretch as a bail bondsman. Whatever the job, he showed up and got it done.

For everything he carried, he rarely let it show. He had a way of shouldering other people's burdens while keeping a smile on his face, even on the days it cost him something.

On September 28, 2020 Albert met the love of his life, Smirah Lambert, at Hooters while enjoying a drink and some wings. He looked across the room and saw something he wanted more than any of the food in front of him. Never being afraid of a challenge, Albert approached Smirah and said, “If you see me smiling, it’s just because I believe that you’re so beautiful.” And that was the start of a beautiful relationship where they loved traveling and eating out at new places.

Then on May 16, 2023, while on a cruise in front of hundreds of people, Albert bent down on one knee and asked Smirah to marry him. Of course, she said yes, and they wed on the beautiful, sandy Fort Lauderdale Beach on May 31, 2025. On that day their love was so palpable and impactful that it brought estranged family members back together and healed relationships. Even without trying, Albert was always positively impacting others. Together, Albert and Smirah built a beautiful life, creating a home filled with love, laughter, faith, and unforgettable memories. They built a family that was deeply loved and cherished.

On his last day, Albert was doing exactly what he did best. He spent it mentoring students on a local JROTC drone team, giving his time to the next generation right to the end.

Albert is survived by his wife, Smirah Humphrey; his father, Albert Humphrey, Sr.; his mother, Onicie Wactor; his brother, Darius Wactor; his grandmother, Claudette Jones; his son, Samir Muhammad; his daughters, Aniya Humphrey and Ashante Lambert; his grand-daughter, Salena Muhammad; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
