Albert J. Glorioso , 90 of Wellington, Florida passed away on May 6, 2011. He was the son of Anna (Yenna) and Salvatore Glorioso. He is survived by his wife Anna C. Glorioso , daughter Janet Lynch, grandsons Scott (Monica) and Shawn (Brenda) Lynch, great-grandson Damien, sister-in-laws Carmel and Ida. Albert was predeceased by his siblings; Joseph, Anthony, Vincent, Santo, Victor, Mary and Catherine. He leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He resided in Wellington from 1983. He served during World War II in the U.S. Naval Amphibious Force in the Philippine Islands, Okinawa, and China campaigns. He received a commendation from the Department of the Navy as a member of the crew of the U.S.S. LSM 391 who saved the lives of 43 men during one of the worst recorded typhoons in U.S. Naval history which occurred off of Okinawa during September 1945. After 30 years of federal service, he retired in 1977 from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland, where he was employed for ten years as an Aerospace Experimental Engineering Technician and for seven years as a Procurement Analyst. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 10, 2011 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at Palms West Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington, FL at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 11.2011. Entombment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
