Adela Alodia Diaz Marin, 89, passed away with peace and grace on Thursday, May 7, 2020, in her home. She is survived by her son, Blas Marin, and his wife Meira; daughter Adela Maria Glass and husband Kenny; son Luis Marin and wife Lynn; and son Carlos Marin and wife Kelli; 8 grandchildren, Juan, Lisa, Meira, Lacey, Jennifer, Marlene, Lanie, and Cecilia; and 12 great-grandchildren: Zack, Juan Jr., Ryan, Joseph, Peyton, Lillian, Samuel, Oliver, Lola, Reese, Paisley, and Cristobal. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Blas Marin. She was the youngest of five siblings, Antonio, Felina, Yeo, and Ester. Born in Cabaiguan, Las Villas, Cuba, on October 22, 1930. Adela married the love of her life, Blas, in 1947. Together, they relocated their family to the United States of America in 1963 in hopes of providing the best life that they could for their family. They began building their home and establishing their legacy in Belle Glade, Fla., until the early 1990s, when they moved to Wellington, Fla., to the home they would spend the rest of their days in. Adela was a woman of great strength, faith, and courage. From her journey to America to her recent health issues, she displayed grace, determination, and great hope. Her life is a testimony to faith, family, fortitude, and love. She was a shining example of these attributes to all, but especially to those closest to her. A bold and beloved matriarch, she provided support and nurturing for her family and shared the joy and pride of their many accomplishments. Among the things she enjoyed, such as crocheting and cooking, the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her family, her greatest love. She leaves us all rich in memories and with a deep assurance that we were loved and members of one of the most beautiful legacies, histories, and families that ever was – La Familia Marin. A private memorial service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m.
