POPE, Aaron Sigmon September 1, 1938-November 26, 2018 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Aaron S. Pope at his home with his son Shay and his girlfriend Monique by his side. He is survived by his son whom he loved dearly, Shay Emerson Pope of Miami Beach; his niece, Becki Pope Ashley, her husband Brian and their four sons, Shawn, Ryan, Blake and Chase, his nephews; Phillip (Chip) Pope III and his daughters Crystal and Casey, and Stephen Pope and his daughters Angell and Tiffanie. He will also be remembered by his brother-in-law Frank (Cathy) Ritti and their children Angie and Brad, as well as many great nieces and nephews and closest friends; Allan Bates, Frank and Janet Jessek and Ed Sasso as well as caregivers Tommy (Miami), Shaz , Dawn, Marie, and Elder's Homecare (Pam). Thank you all for your support, love and friendship. Special thank you to Dr. Mark and Dr. Myer and their respective medical team (s) Aaron was predeceased by his father, Phillip Bainbridge Pope (1949), his mother, Dorothy Pope Vanderwerker (1995), his brother, Phillip Bainbridge Pope Jr (1992) and his loving and beautiful wife of 34 years, Fran Ritti Pope (2008) Aaron was born in Huntington, West Virginia and moved to Florida in 1955 with his mother. After joining the US Air force he became a prominent businessman in South Florida when he partnered in the family businesses of Pope Associates, ADP Lumber in Lake Worth and Truline Industries in Vero Beach. He had a passion for travel, a love for fishing and the desire to collect art and antiques in the New England region of the United States rummaging through old barns and garages for just the right piece. They spent much of their summer in their home in Shirley, Mass. where both he and Fran spent their leisure time hiking in the mountains. This is where their ashes will be strewn at a later date. Services will commence at 10:30am on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Pkwy., Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
