He was the son of Margaret Marte and the late Joseph Marte. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends. He graduated from Dibacco Highschool in 1978 and then graduated from the Sheet Metal Workers' International Association's Local Union #130 West Palm Beach Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee at the top of his class on August 15, 1983. At the age of 23, Billy had already shown his excellence and craftsmanship within the sheet metal industry. Over the years, Billy was commonly known as a true sheet metal journeyman who could perform any task given in the trade, but what Billy excelled at was that of Architectural Sheet Metal. Architectural Sheet Metal is a centuries old craft which takes a combination of skill and artistry. A sheet metal journeyman is the only craftsman who lays out, fabricates, and installs anything needed from a raw flat sheet of metal. Billy was a true craftsman in every shape and form of the word and was always looked upon as a leader and true union brother and mentor to everyone he worked with. Billy always believed that the union brotherhood was the best in the industry and took pride in demonstrating professional workmanship and productivity in every task given. He always preached to his union brothers to work smart, safe, and take pride in providing a finished product that not only shows the highest level of superior craft skills but is done so in a manner that shows we are union Craftsmen and the best in the industry. His love of the great outdoors included hunting, fishing, air boating, traveling, and spending time with family and friends as he had never met a stranger. He was a lifetime member of the Airboat and Halftrack Conservation Club where he volunteered for many years to help in any way he could. He was also a member of the Florida Airboat Association and Lake Okeechobee Airboat Association. You could also find him riding his golfcart in the neighborhood with his loyal dog Asher by his side. We will have a private service with friends and family on July 22, 2023, 3:00 pm at his residence with a Celebration of life immediately following.
