July 3, 1951 - April 10, 2020
Ronald Dale Jarriel Sr., 68, of Loxahatchee Groves Florida went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday April 10th 2020. He was the son of Ned and Annie Mae Jarriel. He was born on July 3 1951 in Lake Worth Florida. He had resided in Loxahatchee Groves since the age of ten. He attended Palm Beach High School class of 1969. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years Sharon L. Jarriel, his son Ronald D. Jarriel Jr. and his "daughter" Lauren Jarriel. He is survived by his siblings Bobby Jarriel (Shirley) of Wauchula Fl, Ken Jarriel (Diane) of Royal Palm Beach Fl, Molly Roberts (Vic) of Cottondale Fl, and Agnes Easom (Leon) of Tallahassee Fl. He dedicated his entire life to helping others. Ron served his country for 4 years as a United States Marine and would always tell others "Once a Marine, always a Marine". Ron spent 31 years "fighting fires and saving lives" as a driver/operator for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. He started his career in 1977 as a firefighter for Southwest Fire District 6, which was one of the original 10 fire districts. He played a pivotal part of the formation of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. After his retirement he continued his involvement in local 2928 and would frequently visit the stations to give advice or to get ice, earning him the nickname "Iceman". Ron always found it important to give back to his community and spent 18 years doing so. He spent 9 years on the Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District before spending another 9 years as a member of the Loxahatchee Groves Town Council, serving as Vice Mayor for several of those years. Even after leaving public office Ron continued his support for the community. Ron loved the Lord and enjoyed being a witness to anyone that he came in contact with. While there are too many stories and catchphrases to list, he would frequently start a conversation with "Listen to me now". Ron was a mentor and hero to many of those that knew him and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He loved his entire family and was an anchor to many of them throughout his life.
