Donald Gene Callaway

DONALD "GENE" CALLAWAY Mr. Callaway, age 82 of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. He was born in Frostproof, Florida, a son of the late Hugh V. Callaway, Sr. and Venie Callaway, and a graduate of Palm Beach High School, 1951. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A member of Belvedere Baptist Church. He was inducted into the P.B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in March 2013 and is noted for many athletic achievements. Mr. Callaway is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Joan C. Callaway; two sons: Donald (wife Kelly) Callaway of WPB, Florida, David Callaway of Denver, Colorado, and two daughters: Debbie (husband Jeff) Dare of WPB, Florida and Christy (husband Derek) Forgas of Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania and preceded in death by his brother Hugh (wife Donzie) Callaway of Lake Worth, Florida, and two sisters: Shirley (husband John) Timmons of Madison, Florida and Lavonne (husband Tom) Greene of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and seven grandchildren: Jeffrey, Chris "Ryan", Lacy, Kyle, Corey, Jeremy and Emily and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 10:00 Am - 11:00 Am on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Belvedere Baptist Church with a service beginning at 11:00 Am. Following services, Donald will be laid to rest with military honors at South Florida National Cemetery.
